Seeing through Buddhism is a talk presented as a series of questions – about the links between two places with similar histories and deep roots in Buddhist thought and practice. Myanmar, like Sri Lanka, is a complicated place with competing narratives in politics, religion, and language. But does Myanmar speak to Sri Lanka and vice versa? Do the country’s creative initiatives engage? Can a bridge be built between two art worlds?

As mentioned in a shared artist statement, “Through this exhibition, 48 artists explore their roots in relation to ‘The Tree of Life.’ Despite our different religious backgrounds, we come together to discover how this sacred tree connects us to the past and to the next life.”
